சாகர் பந்து நடவடிக்கையின் கீழ் தமிழக அரசினால் அனுப்பி வைக்கப்பட்ட 300 மெட்ரிக் தொன் அவசர நிவாரணப் பொருட்கள் நேற்று இலங்கை அதிகாரிகளிடம் ஒப்படைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.
தமிழக அரசினால் அனுப்பப்பட்ட 1000 தொன் நிவாரணப் பொருட்களில் ஒரு பகுதியான 300 மெட்ரிக் தொன் பொருட்கள், இந்திய கடற்படையின் 3 தரையிறங்கு கலங்கள் மூலம், கொழும்பு துறைமுகத்தை வந்தடைந்தன.

மேலும் 700 தொன் உதவிப் பொருட்களை ஏற்றிய மற்றொரு கப்பல் இன்று காலை திருகோணமலையை வந்தடைய இருந்தது.

இந்த நிவாரணப் பொருட்களில் முதன்மையாக பருப்பு வகைகள் மற்றும் சீனி உள்ளிட்ட அத்தியாவசிய உணவுப் பொருட்கள் உள்ளன.
கொழும்பு துறைமுகத்தை வந்தடைந்த பொருட்களை, இந்திய தூதுவர் சந்தோஷ் ஜா, வர்த்தக மற்றும் உணவுப் பாதுகாப்பு அமைச்சர் வசந்த சமரசிங்கவிடம் ஒப்படைத்தார்.
